Jack J. Britvan, e-mail:jbritvan@realbrokers.org Jack J. Britvan, began his Real Estate Career in 1977 and is President and Owner of Signal Realty Brokers, Inc., Syosset, New York. Jack is past President (2004/2005) of the New York City and Downstate New York Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and in 2005 received SIOR's Community Service for being a catalyst in creating Nassau County’s smoking ban which has spread throughout the United States. He is a founding board member of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society (CIBS) and had been a Board Member for the first 20 years of CIBS’s establishment. In January 2011 Jack retired as Secretary to the CIBS Executive Board of Directors. On November 10, 2010, Jack was honored by CIBS via his receiving of CIBS Distinguished Leadership Award. Jack served as President of the New York City/Long Island Chapter of NYSCAR. (New York State Commercial Association of Realtors) from 2018-2019 and remains as a board member. Jack has taught the New York Real Estate Broker’s course at Long Island University/C.W. Post College and has been a lecturer and panelist to various organizations. Jack “actively” participates in several charities: The American Cancer Society (for 24 years), where Jack served on the Long Island Board of Directors for eight years, was a member of the Division’s Executive Committee for 5 years, served as Income Development Chairman for two consecutive terms and created several successful fundraising events. In 2019 Jack started Voices For Truth and Humanity, an all-volunteer 501c3 www.V4TH.org NYS mandated Holocaust education in 1994 but never established curriculum for their public schools. Jack as founder and President of Voices for Truth and Humanity an all-volunteer 501c3 met with Governor Hochul and within 3 months NYS approved $500,000 to establish NYS's first curriculum on Holocaust education. Jack received The American Cancer Society's "Great American SmokeOut Award" and was personally honored at a function hosted by OSI Pharmaceutical for his involvement in enacting Nassau County Smoking Bans which has spread to New York State and Nationally. Other charities include the Executive Advisory Board of CAPS (Child Abuse Prevention Services) retired in April 2008 and he is a former member of WLIW Public Television Advisory Council.
