I am an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in the Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care & Emergency Surgery, serving as Associate Trauma Program Medical Director and Trauma Performance Improvement Director. In these roles I lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee quality and performance initiatives, and mentor residents and fellows working in high-stakes clinical environments. Over more than a decade in academic trauma and critical care, I’ve built a reputation for disciplined leadership, calm in crisis, and a deep commitment to patient outcomes and trainee development. I have a deep commitment to academics, and I regularly speak on trauma systems, decision-making under pressure, and physician wellness. Alongside my clinical and academic responsibilities, I also provide medico-legal consulting and expert witness services in trauma and critical care, translating real-world expertise into clear, objective insights for attorneys and organizations.
