Additional Information

Dr. Jared T. Marx is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and expert in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS). With over 15 years of clinical, academic, and teaching experience, he has dedicated his career to improving diagnostic accuracy, advancing emergency care, and shaping the future of ultrasound education. Dr. Marx provides expert witness services in cases involving Emergency Medicine standards of care, diagnostic decision-making, and the use of ultrasound in trauma, resuscitation, and critical care. His balanced experience across clinical practice, program leadership, national accreditation, and education equips him to evaluate cases with precision and explain complex findings with clarity. As a longstanding member of his department's Peer Review Committee, Dr. Marx has extensive experience evaluating whether care met the accepted standard of practice. His work involves objective analysis of clinical cases, identification of deviations from standard of care, and assessment of contributing system factors such as communication breakdowns, process failures, and resource limitations. This role has refined his ability to provide balanced, evidence-based opinions that distinguish between individual performance and broader institutional factors affecting outcomes. Currently a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), Dr. Marx also serves as the Director of the Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (AEMUS) Fellowship, where he trains fellows to become leaders in clinical ultrasound and program administration. He has mentored hundreds of medical students, residents, and fellows, and guided practicing physicians through hands-on workshops and international collaborations. His experience allows him to translate complex medical and systemic issues into clear, accessible language for non-medical audiences, making him a highly effective expert witness and educator.
