Dr. Yana Puckett is a fellowship-trained, double board-certified surgical oncologist specializing in breast cancer. She is dually board-certified in both General Surgery and Complex General Surgical Oncology. Her clinical expertise includes lumpectomy, mastectomy (skin-sparing, nipple-sparing, bilateral), sentinel lymph node biopsy, axillary dissection, and oncoplastic reconstruction. She also manages benign breast disease, high-risk screening, and breast cancer surveillance. Dr. Puckett is a selected item-writing consultant for the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) Complex General Surgical Oncology Certifying Examination (CGSO CCA), participating in the development and vetting of national board-certification examination content in surgical oncology. Dr. Puckett is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology and American Society for Breast Surgery. She has published and presented research in surgical oncology and has extensive experience in multidisciplinary cancer care. Dr. Puckett has published over 120 scientific publications in the field of oncology and surgery and is the author of multiple scientific book chapters. She provides expert witness services in medical malpractice, negligence, and standard of care cases involving breast cancer. Services include case merit review, deposition, and trial testimony.
