Stephen P. Gondek, MD, MPH, FACS Associate Professor of Surgery, Trauma, Burn, and Acute Care Surgery I am a board-certified trauma, burn, and surgical critical care surgeon with over 10 years of clinical and academic experience at a major tertiary referral center. I have dedicated my career to the care of critically ill and injured patients, while also training and supervising surgical residents and fellows. I serve as Burn ICU Medical Director and Fellowship Program Director, where I practice across trauma, burn, emergency general surgery, and surgical intensive care. I have published extensively, contributed to national guidelines, and lecture frequently on standards of care in trauma, resuscitation, and surgical critical care. My expertise includes: • Trauma systems and standards of care (blunt and penetrating injury, hemorrhage control, damage control surgery) • Surgical critical care and ICU management (sepsis, shock, organ failure, ventilator management) • Burn surgery and acute resuscitation • Emergency general surgery (perforated viscus, necrotizing infections, bowel obstruction, etc.) • Operative and perioperative standards, including supervision of residents and trainees Expert witness services: Medical record review, written reports, depositions, and trial testimony for both plaintiff and defense.
