Dr. Hussein A. Warda is a highly accomplished physician with extensive expertise in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS), formerly known as Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). He is currently a member of a private urology group and previously served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis, from 2017 to 2025. Throughout his career, Dr. Warda has been a leader in advancing clinical care, research, and medical education in his specialty. Dr. Warda completed a fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) at Mount Auburn Hospital, Harvard Medical School, following his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Michigan State University. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) with Excellence and Honors and is double board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG) and Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS). His commitment to patient care and education has earned him numerous honors, including the Diamond Doc Award and the Physician Wellness Good Stuff Award from UC Davis Medical Center. In 2025, he received the Richard H. Oi Excellence in Teaching Award from the UC Davis OBGYN Residency Class, recognizing his dedication to mentorship and medical education. He has also been recognized by Michigan State University and the UC Davis School of Nursing for his contributions to training future healthcare providers. Dr. Warda’s research has been widely published in respected medical journals and presented at national and international conferences. His academic work focuses on surgical innovation, patient safety, pelvic reconstruction, and minimally invasive gynecologic techniques. He also serves as an active reviewer for peer-reviewed journals and conference abstracts, contributing to the advancement of medical literature in his field. In clinical practice, Dr. Warda provides comprehensive care for patients with pelvic floor disorders. His expertise includes the management of urinary and fecal incontinence, defecatory dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, and mesh complications. He is highly skilled in advanced surgical procedures such as mid-urethral slings, vaginal surgery, operative laparoscopy, and prolapse repairs including sacrocolpopexy, uterosacral ligament suspension, and sacrospinous ligament suspension. He has particular expertise in minimally invasive approaches, robotic surgery, bladder botox injections, and sacral neuromodulation therapies (InterStim and Axonics). Through his clinical, academic, research and mentorship roles, Dr. Warda continues to shape the future of urogynecology while improving the lives of his patients.
