Dr. Karin Celosse is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in the area of health psychology, along with experience in neuropsychological evaluations. Dr. Celosse is located in the state of CA and specializes in working with individuals who have a history of experience of trauma, underserved individuals, those who struggle with chronic and severe mental illness, concerns of substance addiction and dependence, and individuals who have complex medical needs. In her tenure at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), she worked on a Level 3 and 4 yard and in Administrative Segregation. Her primary responsibilities included implementing CBT and MI-based therapeutic interventions with inmates; providing ICC for all inmate-patients in ASU and SHU; conducting SRS (sexual reassignment surgery) evaluations for institution; clinical intake, assessment, and interviewing, implementation, and evaluation of mental health & alcohol/drug abuse interventions, to include suicide and crisis evaluation; coordinating with custody and medical in obtaining services for patients from additional community organizations and governmental agencies; providing case management services to assist inmates in developing plans to establish and achieve goals, improve access to supportive services, and address barriers through linkage with needed referrals, to include probation planning; and conducting and facilitating therapeutic groups (to include Seeking Safety and Process Groups. She additionally has extensive experience as adjunct faculty, where she has taught in both online and on-ground programs over the past 10 years. She has additionally worked with individuals struggling with chronic mental illness in the hospital setting and in the State Prison system as a licensed Clinical Psychologist for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR). Her pre-doctoral internship consisted of working with juvenile offenders at a County Probation Central Youth Reporting Center, providing mental health services on Skid Row in Los Angeles, and conducting intakes, assessments, and evaluations at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. Before entering the field of mental health, Dr. Celosse spent well over a decade as a medic and field training officer in the emergency medical services field, affording her unique insights into the medical aspects of mental health. Dr. Celosse earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in psychology and liberal studies (dual major) from California Baptist University in 2000 and a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Applied Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2016. She earned a postdoctoral Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP) - Prescriptive Track from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2021 and a postdoctoral Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Health Services and Public Policy from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in 2022.
