SUMMARY: Dr. Ronit Farzam has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and two Master’s Degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and Linguistics. Dr. Farzam is the founder, director, and clinical supervisor at Center for Healing and Personal Growth, a counseling center in West Los Angeles. Dr. Farzam is the author of 3 books and has written and published hundreds of psychology-related articles. Dr. Farzam’s book “How I Feel When I Hear No” was recently published by American Psychological Association. Dr. Farzam has worked as a researcher in UCLA cognitive psychology department. She specializes in assessing and treating the effects of trauma and has several certifications and trainings in current research-based models in the assessment and treatment of trauma including EMDR, IFS, BrainSpotting, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, and MAP (Managing and Adapting Practices). Dr. Farzam has worked closely as an independent contractor with Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and LAPD in doing up-front assessments in domestic violence situations with children and adolescents involved and in making recommendations for families who have been in domestic violence disputes. She has also assessed and treated hundreds of victims and perpetrators of domestic violence individually or in class format, mandated by court or in the CALWORKS program. In her group practice and in collaboration with LA County Department of Mental Health, in the past few years, she has focused on assessing and treating victims of trauma. She speaks English, Spanish, and Farsi fluently and provides assessment and therapy in all three languages.
