Craig Smith, MAI, is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in and practice is limited to the Senior Housing and Health Care fields, providing Brokerage, Consulting, Valuation and Advisory Services. Mr. Smith holds the MAI designation and has conducted over 6,000 senior housing and healthcare assignments. He served as the National Practice Leader for Healthcare and Senior Housing with Colliers International until January 2018. After stepping down, he continues to provide services in the Senior Housing and Healthcare fields. His experience includes CCRC’s, RRC’s, Independent, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, Hospitals (acute care, specialty, and long-term care), ASC, Freestanding ER, MOB’s, Radiation Oncology, Proton Therapy and property assets of entire health systems. Former member of the Healthcare Financial Manager’s Association (HFMA), Florida Health Care Association (FHCA), and was a founding and board member of the Retirement Housing Council. Mr. Smith also served on the Advisory Boards of the College of Public Health and Health Professions of the University of Florida and the Florida Smart House (a University of Florida technology demonstration project for disabled persons). He is an approved Continuing Education Instructor by the DBPR of Florida and as an International Distance Education provider by ARELLO. He has been quoted in national publications ranging from the Arizona Republic to the Washington Times. He authored the April 2008 article in the Real Estate Finance periodical; "Medical Office Development Continues to Rise as Aging Demographics Drive Demand for New Space” Having been engaged in over 100 cases and qualified as an expert in eight State Courts, Federal Courts and Bankruptcy Court, has experience in different jurisdictions and and evidence rules. Experience as a testifying expert, advisor and consulting expert provides prospective and insight into the process and requirements for each. Further, as an educator, understands the importance of the "teaching role "of the testifying expert, whether before a Judge or with a Jury.
