I am a seasoned medical professional with over 40 years of health care experience and 30 years of experience in correctional health care and civil rights. Currently, I serve as a Chief Medical Officer where I oversee health care delivery, policy development, and compliance with health service standards. In my role as a Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Contractor for the Department of Homeland Security, I conduct assessments of medical and behavioral health programs in detention centers, ensuring compliance with professional standards. I provide technical assistance and consulting services to correctional agencies. Previously, I served as Chief Nursing Officer at a large Hospital and Health System that manages the County Jails, managing nursing operations, developing key policies, and overseeing infection control and education departments. I successfully closed out Department of Justice provisions and developed a new hire orientation program. My expertise in correctional health care, policy development, and compliance as well as my experience as a medical expert witness, makes me an ideal candidate for a medical legal expert witness, offering valuable insights and authoritative testimony.
