10Additional Information
I am a board-certified family medicine physician with over two decades of experience in correctional healthcare, a field I have worked in since 2000. Throughout my career, I have provided care in a wide variety of jail and prison settings nationwide and have held medical licenses in 17 states. I currently maintain active licensure in Illinois, Missouri, Texas, and New Mexico. My clinical expertise includes the management of acute and chronic illnesses, treatment of patients with substance use disorders, and the delivery of both emergent and infirmary care. As a primary care physician, I am committed to addressing the holistic needs of my patients and ensuring seamless continuity of care, particularly during discharge planning. My leadership roles have included site physician, medical director for male prison facilities, and jail physician. I also served as Assistant Corporate Medical Director and later as Corporate Medical Director for Advanced Correctional Healthcare. In 2012, I joined Wexford Health Sources, Inc. as Regional Medical Director for Illinois. These positions have encompassed responsibilities such as policy development, healthcare system oversight, peer review, and ensuring compliance with standards set by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC), as well as by relevant state, county, and community-based regulatory bodies. Throughout my career, I have remained deeply involved in provider education and training—both on-site and through broader initiatives, including quarterly medical director meetings and national conferences. My work as a medical legal expert began in 2015 and is ongoing. I have consulted on nine cases to date, with four depositions and one trial testimony. I have authored detailed record reviews and expert reports for each case. While my experience thus far has been exclusively on the defense side, I am open to and interested in supporting plaintiff cases when the opportunity arises. In addition to expert witness work, I have served as a Rule 30(b)(6) corporate representative in approximately 36 cases and have testified in about eight trials in various capacities, including clinical expert, corporate representative, and defense expert. I take pride in offering expert analysis that is thorough, impartial, and consistent. I am a Fellow of the American College of Correctional Physicians (FACCP) and currently serve on its Fellowship Committee. I have presented at the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) annual conferences and hold certification as a Certified Correctional Health Professional. I remain board certified in Family Medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine. With my broad and well-rounded background in correctional healthcare and legal consulting, I am confident in my ability to provide valuable insight and support. Thank you for your consideration.
