Steven Smyth is a Licensed and Certified Nursing Home Administrator with over 25 years’ experience in the long-term care/post-acute care industry holding current active licenses in the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. Prior to working in post-acute care, Smyth worked for an additional ten years in several hospitals (Emergency Department Administrator, Administrator on Duty) and both hospital-based and free-standing clinic administration (Program Director/Administrator) positions. Mr. Smyth was educated locally as a graduate of Adelphi University (bachelor’s) and Hofstra University (master’s degree). In 2018, Mr. Smyth obtained his HSE Qualification indicating proficiency and licensing equivalency in long term/post-acute care, hospice care, assisted living and home and community-based services (HCBS). He is a Board-Certified Patient Advocate (BCPA) a Certified Internal Forensic Healthcare Auditor (CIFHA), and a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CDMCP). He served as a member of the Board of Directors of LeadingAge NY for two terms (six years), is a Fellow in both the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and Fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators (FACHCA) and acted as Chairperson for the Professional Advancement Committee and National Convention Planning Committees of ACHCA. Mr. Smyth also received the Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award four times (2013, 2014, 2016 and 2021), exhibiting an ongoing proficiency and dedication to exceptional care and outcomes for the residents of long-term care facilities. Additionally, Mr. Smyth has been providing administrative consulting services since 2010 including providing expert witness services since 2021.
