Dr. Matthew Reynolds is a Board-Certified Neurological and Neuro-Endovascular Surgeon with over 15 years of experience in the academic and community hospital settings. He received his undergraduate degree in English Literature from Hope College (Holland, MI) where he graduated with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude) and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. He then attended Northwestern University Medical School where he received his combined M.D./Ph.D. degree, graduated in the top 10% of his class, and was awarded membership into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honors society. His neurosurgical residency training was at Washington University in St. Louis (St. Louis, MO), one of the busiest and most heralded training programs in the country. He further completed post-residency fellowships in Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Neurosurgery (Emory University; Atlanta, GA) and Neuro-Endovascular Surgery/Neuro Critical Care (Thomas Jefferson University; Philadelphia, PA). Throughout his career, Dr. Reynolds has been a prolific clinical writer/researcher and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has served in both editorial and reviewer roles for numerous prestigious basic science and clinical journals. He currently practices at a high-volume hospital in the Chicago southwest suburbs (Silver Cross Hospital; New Lenox, IL) and serves as the Director of Neurological and Neuro-Endovascular Surgery as well as the Chief-of-Staff/Chairman of Surgical Services. His practice focuses on a wide breath of pathologies in the brain and spine.
