I have spent over 30 years in both academic cardiac surgery (10 years at Vanderbilt) and private practice (initially in Tennessee and subsequently in Florida). I participated in the initial US trial for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and have continued involvement with TAVR and structural heart programs. My surgical practice has focused on valve repair and replacement and coronary artery bypass, but I have experience in the breadth of cardiac surgery.
