Award-winning Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Matthew Steele received his combined undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Florida after completing the prestigious Junior Honors Medical which facilitates early admission to the College of Medicine and completion of both degrees in 7 years. After training in both Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Plastic Surgery, Dr. Steele joined the faculty at the acclaimed University of Florida College of Medicine and taught residents and medical students for 5 1/2 years. He is board certified in both Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery and has active medical licenses in Texas and Florida. While he enjoyed teaching, Dr. Steele eventually decided to pursue private practice opportunities ultimately culminating in the founding of his solo private practice, Steele Plastic Surgery. Dr. Steele has extensive training in all areas of plastic surgery, but his current practice focuses on breast reconstruction after mastectomy, reconstruction after skin cancer excision (Mohs surgery), and cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. He also runs a very successful medical spa that provides dermal fillers, neurotoxins, phototherapy, hydrafacials, microneedling, and laser skin resurfacing. Dr. Steele has performed expert witness work since 2009 working with attorneys from all over the country. He has worked for both plaintiff and defense counsel and was instrumental in identifying malpractice that resulted in a class action settlement for the plaintiffs of over 8 figures. Dr. Steele's expert witness case work includes malpractice and complications related to breast reconstruction, cosmetic breast/body surgery, and skin cancer procedures that have resulted in significant bodily harm, financial loss, and death. He has extensive experience with depositions, court testimony, and case reviews, approximately 75 cases over the past 15 years.
