Beginning as an Air Force vehicle dispatcher in 1983, a Coca Cola delivery driver in 1989, and a truck driver with Ryder Logistics and United Parcel until 1998, when I began to learn and do more than drive. In 1998 I helped Jevic Transportation set up and open their first Southwest Ohio facility where I drove, trained, and organized shipments until the facility was at full operational capacity. In 2000, I maintained DOT compliance records for Ohio Jevic drivers. In 2002, I took over training for Jevic in Ohio, where I created an interactive learning and compliance module for illiterate drivers. In 2004, the success of the learning module earned me the Jevic Chairman's Award for that year. I continued to drive and train drivers for Jevic Transportation until they were purchased and eventually closed in 2008. In 2011, after three years of ministerial training and chaplaincy, I began driving for FedEx Freight. By 2015, I began managing/advising a district of 1500 FedEx drivers. My duties covered compliance, safety, and accountability of all drivers within my district. In 2020, I was among 27 employees chosen nationwide to brainstorm with the executive staff on company issues that to that point had remained unresolved. In 2022, I won the FedEx Five Star Award (which is their highest award) for my work with driver compliance/safety. As of 2024, my area expanded to nearly 2500 drivers.
