In addition to a busy clinical practice, he notably directed both the VIR Research Program and Radiology Clinical Research Integration at NYU Langone Health. Dr. Taslakian completed his residency at the American University of Beirut. He then pursued highly specialized fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Imaging, Advanced Cardiac Imaging, and Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the esteemed Department of Radiology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York. He holds dual board certifications in Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology from both the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and from the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR). He was awarded the European Certification for Endovascular Specialists, in recognition of his expertise and experience in the field of endovascular therapy. Dr. Taslakian served as the Principal Investigator for investigator-initiated prospective trials evaluating genicular artery embolization for knee osteoarthritis and persistent knee pain after total knee arthroplasty. He also functioned as a Site Principal Investigator and National Coordinator for the NIH-funded PE-TRACT trial, which assessed catheter-directed therapy for intermediate-risk pulmonary embolism. Dr. Taslakian has an impressive publication record, having authored and co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles, numerous book chapters, and extensive national and international meeting abstracts. He actively shapes the field through frequent presentations at conferences worldwide, sharing his insights on genicular artery embolization, pulmonary embolism, and the development of clinical research infrastructures.
