Dr. Bedros Taslakian is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine where he serves as the Director of VIR Research Program and the Director of Clinical Research Integration. Dr. Taslakian completed residency at the American University of Beirut after which he completed fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Imaging, Advanced Cardiac Imaging, and Vascular and Interventional Radiology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR). With a Master of Arts in Health Law and Policy, awarded with Distinction from Hofstra University's Maurice Deane School of Law, Dr. Taslakian demonstrates increasing engagement with the legal, ethical, and societal dimensions of medicine. Dr. Taslakian’s areas of clinical expertise and research interests include venous thromboembolism, knee osteoarthritis, and portal hypertension. Dr. Taslakian is the principal investigator of investigator-initiated prospective trials evaluating the role of genicular artery embolization for treatment of knee osteoarthritis and persistent knee pain post total knee arthroplasty. Dr. Taslakian also serves as a site principal investigator and national coordinator of the NIH-funded PE-TRACT trial evaluating the role of catheter-directed therapy for treatment of intermediate-risk PE. He has authored and co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles, multiple book chapters, and numerous national and international meeting abstracts. He actively contributes to the advancement of the field through his frequent presentations at national and international conferences, sharing his research and insights on genicular artery embolization, pulmonary embolism, and building clinical research infrastructures.
