Dr. Alexandra Lajoux is the founding principal of Capital Expert Services, LLC (CapEx), offering expert witness search and related services. Dr. Lajoux serves the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) as chief knowledge officer emeritus. She served as editor-in-chief of NACD’s Director’s Monthly for more than 15 years, and helped NACD develop the world’s largest library of director-centric thought leadership publications. She was named to the NACD Directorship 100 in 2024. She is an emeritus member of the Board of M&A Standards, an associate member of the ABA, and a past member of a governance forum at the ACCA, IEEE, and the Recording Academy. She is a Life Member and past trustee of the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni. She is past VP of her HOA and past member of her city's Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. At Loyola University (Maryland) she supports the Jenkins Society with the Bernard and Alexandra Lajoux Scholarship. She holds a competent communicator certificate from Toastmasters International and has a certificate for audio engineering. She is a member of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business, Conserve Nassau and Amelia Island Chapter of the D.A.R. as well as Federated Republican Women of Nassau, and supports Friends of American Beach, Friends of the A. L. Lewis Historical Society, and Friends of Notre Dame Cathedral. A 7th grade catechist at St. Michael Catholic Church, she is certified as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem (court appointed special advocate) for children in Nassau County, Florida. Dr. Lajoux is secretary of the board for Voices for Children of Florida as well as the advisory boards of Campaigns & Elections magazine and the Caux Round Table. She recently ran for local public office on a sustainability platform. Dr. Lajoux is Series Editor for De Gruyter Publishing. She has conceptualized and authored/coauthored all nine titles in the McGraw-Hill Art of M&A series (1989-2024), as well as books on valuation with Robert A. G. Monks (Wiley, 2010); on money with Peet van Biljon (De Gruyter 2020), and on municipal sustainability (De Gruyter 2021). Her articles have appeared in Financier Worldwide, Risk & Compliance, and Capital Insights. Her works are cited in more than 900 academic studies.
