Allyson Sterling is a Board Certified General Surgeon practicing for over a decade in multiple hospital settings, gaining a breadth of experience in surgical care from mid-sized suburban settings to critical access, remote facilities. Her practice has focused on delivering excellent quality care in limited resource settings with the intention of keeping appropriate care as close to home as possible. Dr. Sterling has championed the WHO Safe Surgery Checklist in her hospital settings and fosters collaborative care teams to enhance safety and communication in the operating room and the hospital. Dr. Sterling received her BA from Wake Forest University, studied at the University of Virginia and earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. She completed her internship and residency in General Surgery at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in Spartanburg, SC. Dr. Sterling is Board Certified in General Surgery and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. She currently practices at a critical access hospital in Idaho.
