Jacob Morrise is a Consumer Product Design Expert with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and over 15 years of experience designing products in all categories of the consumer product space including, locking devices, child safety gun safety, kitchen, home, landscape, personal care, textiles, audio/visual, cleaning, pet, tracking, smart devices, and others. He has designed hundreds of consumer and other products, which have sold on Amazon, in retail stores and online. He is listed on numerous issues and in process patents, and has worked closely with patent attorneys to get these pattens realized. Jacob has a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from BYU-Idaho, graduating Magna Cum Laude and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University. He is skilled in among other things, the Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks CAD design, with over 10,000 hours of design work, as acted multiple years as a design coach for University Students working on their Capstone Projects at BYU. Jacob has experience working as an expert witness in both wrongful injury/death as well as patent infringement lawsuits. As a natural problem solver and troubleshooter, Jacob is adept in understanding and explaining mechanisms and identifying potential failure modes in products. Additionally, Jacob has many hours of experience in front of a camera and is a proficient writer. He has also run his own private design firm since 2018 and has been the principle mechanical designer for hundreds of mechanical and electromechanical products. Some of these products include: gun safes, doorbell camera, including the very first Ring doorbell, deadbolts, smart devices, medical products, self defense, furniture, baby stroller, cleaning, as well as products for aerospace and industrial applications.
