I am a practicing Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician (Physiatrist), licensed in New York, and active medical educator developing medical school curricula. I am an expert on optimizing mobility and function, especially pertaining to individuals with amputation or nervous system injury or disease. I have 10 years of clinical experience caring for patients with cerebral palsy, stroke, SCI, TBI, multiple sclerosis, and treating spasticity a common muscle symptom of these diagnoses. My spasticity treatment experience includes oral medications, botulinum toxin (Botox) injections, and facilitating surgical management. My physiatry expertise includes overuse and traumatic injuries of the shoulder, hand, knee, ankle and hip. I have expertise in the use and interpretation of musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound. I completed of my residency at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital / Harvard Medical School in PM&R. While in training, I cared for survivors of the Boston Marathon Bombing and developed a passion for caring for patients with amputation. I have helped 200+ amputees in obtaining prosthetic equipment and optimizing symptom management. I clinically care for a variety of physical impairments and disabilities and advocate for my patients accommodations and resource acquisition. I create and administer curriculum for our medical school focused on the lived experiences of patients with disability and creating future doctors better prepared to care for this population.
