Steven Raichilson' s interest in senior living began when he worked as a male nursing assistant in a nursing facility in his native home of Buffalo ,New York, while in undergraduate school. This experience sparked an interest in nursing home and senior living management, and he attended graduate school at George Washington University, where Steven earned a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration, with a major in Long Term Care Management. He graduated first in his class. Upon graduation, Steven was hired as Chief Executive Officer of Greenwood House, a skilled nursing facility in Trenton, New Jersey, for a tenure of eleven years. While at Greenwood House, Steven doubled the facility's size and added community service programs. Steven was next hired at Chief Executive Officer of Menorah Park Center for Senior Living in suburban Cleveland, the largest single campus senior provider in Ohio. During his thirty year tenure at Menorah Park, Steven managed the care for over one thousand clients per day on a forty acre campus, with 1200 staff members and an annual budget of $80 million. Steven and his management team provided the highest quality of care programming the state. The Menorah Park 355 bed skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation hospital received successive perfect "deficiency free" annual state Department of Health inspections. The facility also received a perfect "Federal look back" inspection, when Federal inspectors questioned the series of perfect state inspections of such a large nursing facility, and sent their own team of Federal inspectors to inspect the facility. This also resulted in a perfect inspection. Menorah Park's nursing facility under Steven's leadership also consistently earned a 5 STAR Medicare quality rating since the Medicare quality plan's inception. Under Steven's leadership, the Menorah Park campus also developed and operated two large Assisted Living residences, Independent Living residence, large Home Care program, Adult Day Care, Outpatient Rehabilitation , Dialysis for the general community, Hospice and Ambulance Service. Assisted and Independent Living residences had two year wait lists for admission. Steven is often sought out as a senior care resource for newspaper correspondents writing articles on senior living, including the New York Times. Steven has been retained as an Expert Witness and Advisor for 12 legal cases, for both Plaintiff and Defense case support. Upon retirement from Menorah Park, Steven is presently engaged in senior living consulting activity and advises clients how to successfully enroll in Medicare.
