Dr. Barry E. Breaux, Sr. is a board-certified ophthalmologist with over 35 years of experience in both medical and surgical ophthalmology. He completed his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at the University of Kansas before earning his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Following his medical training, Dr. Breaux pursued an internal medicine internship and an ophthalmology residency at Martin Luther King, Jr. General Hospital in Los Angeles, California, later completing a fellowship in Refractive Keratoplasty at Holy Cross Hospital under Dr. Richard Villasenor. Dr. Breaux has spent the majority of his career practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he has held numerous professional and academic positions. He has served as an Instructor for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has been an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His contributions to the field include roles such as Medical Director and Co-Manager of Canyon Pinole Surgery Center and consulting roles for the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Currently, Dr. Breaux is the President of Breaux Benefit Consultants. His ongoing commitment to veteran care is evidenced by his work with Caliber Health, where he performs eye exams and reviews medical records for veteran patients.
