I am a pediatric general and specialist surgeon with 24 years experience, spanning both academic and a busy clinical practice. After having the opportunity to train at some of the busiest centers in the world in India and Australia, I worked as a pediatric surgeon abroad for 9 years, followed by a busy practice as an Attending Pediatric Surgeon in the United States for the last 15 years. My training abroad was recognized by the University of State of New York and the American College of Surgeons. I am licensed to practice medicine in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida. My unique experience makes me adept at both open and minimal invasive surgery and has enabled me to amass a large experience relevant to my specialty in a relatively short period of time. Concurrent with my clinical practice has been an academic practice that has included training medical students, resident pediatricians, resident general surgeons and pediatric surgery fellows. I have 30 peer reviewed publications in reputed indexed journals. I also deliver invited lectures in pediatric surgery with a focus on minimally invasive pediatric surgery where I have done pioneering work, including the first report of single incision robotic surgery in children, which was published in the 'Journal of Pediatric Surgery' in 2015. I provided leadership to both the pediatric surgical program and the pediatric trauma program at my institution for 10 years. This included development of protocols, quality control, peer review and oversight of other medical providers including surgeons and pediatricians for their role in the above programs.
