Dr. Barbara Kapetanakes is a New York State Licensed Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in clinical practice, with a specialty in neuropsychology as well as general practice. She holds a Doctorate in Psychology and a Master’s in Education in School Psychology, both from Pace University, and has further advanced her expertise with a Post-Doctoral Certificate in Neuropsychology from the Fielding Institute and a Post-Doctoral Master’s Degree in Psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Kapetanakes is the founder and director of a thriving private practice in Sleepy Hollow, NY, where she provides comprehensive psychological services, including neuropsychological testing, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and divorce mediation. Her practice focuses on adolescents, families navigating divorce, and individuals with learning disabilities, attention deficits, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurocognitive disorders. She also offers support for patients dealing with anxiety, depression, and general psychological issues. Throughout her career, Dr. Kapetanakes has been deeply involved in the professional community. She has served as the President of both the Westchester County Psychological Association and the New York State Psychological Association, where she remains an active member and past-president. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with several honors, including the Westchester Business Council's "40 Under 40 Rising Stars" award in 2005 and the Distinguished Service Award from the Westchester County Psychological Association in 2010.
