Jon Washington is currently Founder and Proprietor of The Innovation Garage, a company he has run since August 2012. The Innovation Garage is a consultancy that provides education, tools, technology, and expert consulting in change management for strategy, innovation, and supply chain. The Innovation Garage works with organization leadership teams to help design strategy, build internal capability, and execute systems and solutions by providing education tools, and technology. The client base includes start up, not for profit, and globally recognized publicly traded organizations including several global fortune 500. Since founding the organization in 2012, The Innovation Garage has worked with 75+ global organizations and Mr. Washington has personally trained over 1,500 leaders and their extended internal team members. In addition to his role at The Innovation Garage, Mr. Washington consults with organizations across many industries and sizes including start-ups, mid-market privately held, large publicly traded, non-profit, and DoD support organizations. Areas of expertise and client demographic sectors include, medical, automotive, aerospace, defense, consumer packaged goods, mining, energy, broadcasting financial self-service and manufacturing. With his university background as a degreed mechanical engineer and MBA he also supports clients in areas of operations improvement and efficiency. As a named inventor on over 100+ global patents, Mr. Washington has been retained by several clients for expert patent consultation and testifying expert roles. Providing patent analysis, claim chart development, expert/rebuttal reports and is retained for his expertise in patent related business process matters involving patent infringement/non-infringement analysis, patent re-examination, and for his knowledge and experience with USPTO and global patent business process support. Prior to this role Mr. Washington acted as Senior Director, Product Sourcing-Global Procurement at Diebold, Inc. from June 2011 - October 2013. In this role he was responsible for leading strategic sourcing, supply chain development, source selection, supplier performance management, supplier managed new product introduction, and Smart Business annual cost reduction program, architecting industry leading supplier innovation and collaboration efforts within the Diebold Enterprise. Mr. Washington led a team of 30+ global supply chain team members in six continents, managing a $5M operating budget and was responsible for global supply chain development managing over $1B USD in annual spend and over 1000 global suppliers. Before this position, Mr. Washington was Director, Sourcing Engineering-Global Procurement at Diebold from December 1999 - June 2011 and served the organization as a product designer, team systems lead and Sr. Principal engineer responsible for commercialization of various complex high technology integrated financial self-services systems and devices including physical and electronic security. Mr. Washington has also been part of several start up organizations and enterprises over the last 30 years. The Innovation Garage helps to make companies more profitable by providing education, tools and technology.
