Matthew Nobari, MD, is a clinician educator, researcher, and board-certified pulmonologist & intensivist. He provides care to patients with a variety of diseases including, but not limited to, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary hypertension, asthma, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, sepsis, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). He is committed to providing comprehensive care to all of his patients. Dr. Nobari is actively involved in the teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents and fellows at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and Loyola University Medical Center. Prior to joining Loyola, Dr. Nobari was Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of California San Diego where he was clinical faculty of the year (2021), interim director of Interventional Pulmonary (2018-2020), and received the White Ribbon Award for Lung Cancer Care. While at UCSD, he served as a mentor for biomedical engineering students. He also served as attending faculty at the VAMC in San Diego and volunteered at the UCSD Free Student Clinic in downtown San Diego. His clinical and research interests are in quality improvement process management, COPD, asthma, refractory chronic cough, lung cancer, and advanced bronchoscopic modalities. Dr. Nobari completed fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he also earned his medical degree and received the academic research achievement award. He completed residency training in internal medicine at St. Vincent Hospital where he was awarded the distinguished resident of the 2012 graduating class. He is board certified in internal medicine, critical care medicine and pulmonology. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center. He carries medical licenses in states of CA, IL, IN, and TX.
