Additional Information

Dr. Mohit Girotra is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Therapeutic/Interventional Endoscopist at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle WA. He is also Associate Professor at the Washington State University/Elson S. Floyd School of Medicine, WA. Prior to this, he was an Associate Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, in Miami, Florida. Dr. Girotra completed his medical school at the Christian Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana, India before joining the Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Internal Medicine Residency program where he served for an additional year as Chief Resident. During that time, he became invested with activities of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and served as Co-Chair for ACP-Chief Residents Association of Baltimore. He then completed a Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), where he was also nominated as the Chief Fellow. He served as GI faculty at UAMS, before pursuing a therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at the Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, California. He is extremely passionate about research, having won several research recognitions including “Mendeloff award” and “ACP Maryland Chapter research award,” and extramural funding to support his clinical research. He has served the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) on various committees including Training; Practice Parameters; Digital Communications and Publications, and also as a Co-Director of the ACG 2nd Year Fellows Course in 2016. He has served American Society of GI Endoscopy (ASGE) on various committees, including the Technology committee, wherein he has co-authored several new technology documents/white-papers. For his service to these various national GI societies, he has been conferred fellowships by all of them (FACG, FASGE and AGAF). He is also the current national secretary for FITE (Foundation for Interventional and Therapeutic Endoscopy). Dr. Girotra is dual board certified, in Internal Medicine as well as Gastroenterology and has enjoyed a long and clinically busy career, with detailed experience in several aspects of these fields. He has been an active member of SEAK program since Feb 2020, and with his extensive experience, he has helped in numerous cases, given his expertise in various fields of Gastroenterology, Interventional Endoscopy and Internal Medicine.
