Mr. Lerner is a highly seasoned business executive with an intense focus on Business Valuation, all driven by significant experience and accomplishments in Mergers and Acquisitions, business strategy, and international business expansion. Mr. Lerner honed his experience in business valuation through a lengthy and intense career in Mergers and Acquisitions. His career in M&A started at Merrill Lynch where he rose to Vice President, continued at Chase Manhattan Bank where he was a Managing Director at age 32, and then at Morgen Evan Advisory - the firm he founded. He has also served as the Chairman of Oaklins International, a global association of M&A firms, as well as a Board member of M&A Worldwide, another global M&A network. With more than 200 M&A transactions managed, Mr. Lerner has valued a wide range of companies from private to public, US based to foreign based, and across an extensive array of industries. Mr. Lerner has negotiated business valuations with some of the toughest corporate leaders in the world, having lived and worked in both Japan and China. More recently, Mr. Lerner has expanded his advisory business to include legal expert testimony related to business valuation. His strong industry expertise has covered manufacturing, automotive, technology, food and beverage, real estate, as well as consumer brands and the fashion industry. For the last 8 years, Mr. Lerner has been sought out as a visiting business faculty member at numerous Universities, including SKEMA - the largest business school based in France with 5 global locations, and more recently as Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami, Herbert Graduate Business School, teaching graduate level courses in Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Valuation. Mr. Lerner is able to synthesize complex and diverse information; is highly organized in work flow, procedures, and operations, and is highly effective at presenting financial, numerical, and strategic data. He has worked as advisor to many of the world's largest global corporations including, Mars (private) and AT&T (public) in the US, LG in Korea, Mitsubishi Corporation, Toyota and Fujitsu in Japan, the State Electric Company of China, Unilever in the UK, and Henkel in Germany. In most of these engagements, he was advising large sophisticated companies in their acquisition and investments in small to midsize companies. These large corporations had the confidence to engage Morgen Evan because of our proven capabilities, and our work on valuations of smaller, often private companies, which are not as easy to value due to the nature of often being private.
