Additional Information

Dr. Bruce Anneaux is a highly respected, seasoned R&D leader and expert in biomaterials and medical device innovation. With a robust background in electrical engineering, automation, and robotics, he transitioned into the medical field, becoming a cardiovascular perfusionist and significantly impacting patient care through 5 years working alongside several CV surgeons in the Southeastern US. Dr. Anneaux has over 80 patents and pending patents to his name, showcasing his expertise in biomaterials and bioprocessing. He has published numerous research papers and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. His career spans over two decades, during which he has held strategic R&D advisory roles for established and startup companies. From 2007 to 2018, Dr. Anneaux served as the Corporate Director of R&D for Zeus Industrial Products Inc. Recruited by Frank Tourville and John Worley, he was charged with transforming Zeus from a polymer extrusion service provider into a technology company. Dr. Anneaux led the development of cutting-edge technologies such as eSpin PTFE, MRI-compatible guidewires, and bioabsorbable tubing with tuned orientation, contributing to the company's significant growth in intellectual property and revenue. Under his leadership, Zeus shifted from a trade secrets focus to an IP-driven culture, resulting in more than 60 patents and patents pending. Earlier in his career, he was instrumental in transitioning Poly-Med Inc., a bioresorbable polymer startup, into a commercial enterprise with multimillion-dollar contracts. During his tenure at Poly-Med, Dr. Anneaux gained extensive knowledge in bioabsorbable polymer synthesis and processing. His expertise played a crucial role in the company's growth, establishing it as a leader in the field of bioresorbable materials and medical textiles. He later returned to Poly-Med to lead a critical R&D project, resulting in the successful production of a bioabsorbable nanofiber tissue regeneration matrix and subsequent product spin-offs. In 2018, Dr. Anneaux joined Trinity Technology Group as CTO, focusing on expanding their medical line of expanded PTFE (ePTFE) and enhancing their pulse plasma treatment capabilities for protective apparel. Currently, Dr. Anneaux leads a respected consulting firm specializing in biomaterials and medical device research and development. Beyond his executive roles, he has been an adjunct faculty member for Clemson University’s Department of Bioengineering and on the Advisory Board for the University of South Carolina Department of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Anneaux holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in bioengineering from Clemson University, a B.S. in extracorporeal circulation technology from the Medical University of South Carolina, and a B.S. in electrical engineering from Clemson University. He is committed to community service, actively volunteering with several civic and nonprofit organizations.
