Additional Information

I was born and raised in a suburb of Pittsburgh and went to college at the University of Pittsburgh. I completed residency and fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and then started practicing as an academic Neurointensivist at UT Health San Antonio for 5 years prior to my recruitment to Pittsburgh. In my current role as medical director of the Neuro ICU at Presbyterian hospital, I am responsible for ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered for patients with Neurocritical care diseases in the region. I must keep myself and my team updated with any new guidelines, ground breaking publications, and treatments that may help our patients. I regularly review all mortalities and unforeseen morbidities in my ICU for opportunities for improvement. I am involved with 3 national societies: Neurocritical Care Society, American Academy of Neurology, and Society of Critical Care Medicine in various capacities representing Neurocritical Care and critical care Neurology. I have published over 20 research papers in Neurology and Neurocritical Care and consider myself an expert in Neurocritical Care.
