Dr. Gregory Semon is a distinguished surgeon who currently serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He practices general surgery, trauma surgery, critical care, and burn surgery at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH, which is a Level 1 Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Semon hold three board certifications in General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery. He completed his surgical training at Ohio University/Kettering Health Network in Dayton, OH and his surgical critical care and acute care surgery fellowships at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, FL. In addition to his clinical and academic duties, Dr. Semon holds multiple administrative roles, including serving as Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Miami Valley Hospital. He also works to improve community safety as Director of the Injury Prevention Center of Greater Dayton. Dr. Semon has a passion for quality and currently serves as Chair of Medical Staff Quality for Miami Valley Hospital. In this role, he oversees peer review and professional practice evaluations for physicians of all specialties. He also is a member of the State Medical Board of Ohio’s Quality Interventional Program, performing case reviews as requested by the board. He is very active at the national level and is frequently called upon as a lecturer or panelist at conferences. Dr. Semon has been honored as a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. He is an active member and serves on committees for national organizations including the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Chest Wall Injury Society, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Semon is also a noted researcher and has multiple publications with special interest in the areas of rib fractures, traumatic brain injury, and coagulopathy. He maintains an unrestricted medical license in the State of Ohio as well as an Expert Witness Certificate in the State of Florida. He prides himself on providing detail-oriented, unbiased, and thorough reviews in an expedient fashion.
