With over 26 years of extensive experience in law enforcement, Harold C. Heitman brings unparalleled expertise to the courtroom. Having served as an elected sheriff for 16 years and held various roles including park ranger, jailer, corporal, sergeant, detective, and police chief, he currently provides contract services for the United States Marshal's Office. As a Senior Board Member for the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group for nearly two decades, Harold is a trained Major Case Squad Investigator with specialized training from the FBI and other prestigious organizations. His diverse experience spans a wide range of cases, including financial crimes, domestic violence, and homicide. Additionally, he is a former police K-9 handler. Harold holds a degree in criminal justice and is a licensed generalist and specialty instructor for the Missouri Department of Public Safety. He shares his knowledge as a lead instructor at the police academy in Jefferson City, specializing in firearms, less lethal tactics, use of force, interviews, and interrogations. Originally starting his career in the St. Louis area, Harold has established himself in Mid-Missouri. He has been recognized as an expert witness in both Federal and State criminal court cases. Beyond law enforcement, Harold is a Master Scuba Instructor for PADI, a certified lifeguard, leads the Mid-Missouri Sheriff’s Dive Team, specializing in underwater evidence recovery, and providing scuba diving expertise as well.
