I was board certified in pediatrics from 1988-2002. I returned to residency , specializing in anesthesiology and completed the program along with a 6 month fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. I practiced in an academic setting in Chicago for 4 years , specializing in pediatric anesthesiology, and pediatric and adult cardiothoracic cases at Rush Presbyterian St Luke's Medical Center .I was an assistant professor , doing bedside teaching of residents, medical students and student nurse anesthetists, as well as didactic lectures. I helped to build the pediatric acute pain service and its protocols. I have been board certified in anesthesiology since 1995, and am current in my certification. After moving to Denver, Colorado, with my family, I joined a private practice in the Denver area and became a partner, retiring from that practice after 25 years. I was in a rotation of 4 anesthesiologists who took call doing cardiothoracic anesthesiology. I practiced in all other areas of anesthesia except for obstetrics and transplant. It was in a level 2 trauma setting. Following this, I took locum tenens assignments in various hospitals and have taken employment with GI Associates in Denver as well. I am in full-time practice currently. I founded a medical device company , Patient Shield Concepts,LLC, based in Denver as a result of inventing, producing and patenting medical devices for use in critical care settings and acute care medicine.
