Dr. Kelley Pratt is a board-certified emergency physician with over 20 years of clinical, administrative, and academic experience. He serves as Emergency Department Medical Director and Medical Staff President at a high-performing community hospital with a strong track record of national recognition, CMS quality ratings, and patient experience awards. Dr. Pratt completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Arizona, where he served as Chief Resident, and earned his MD from the University of Washington. He is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is an active member of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He holds faculty appointments at two medical schools, where he teaches clinical reasoning and emergency care. In addition to active clinical practice, Dr. Pratt provides leadership in hospital quality and patient safety, offering a dual perspective that integrates frontline emergency care with systems-level oversight. His experience includes evaluation of emergency department operations, triage processes, throughput and boarding, documentation standards, interdisciplinary coordination of care, and the roles and responsibilities of providers within team-based emergency care. He is actively engaged in hospital-wide clinical oversight through work in stroke, sepsis, cardiac care, pulmonary embolism response, credentialing, and process improvement. Dr. Pratt provides objective, evidence-based expert opinions in emergency medicine cases involving standard of care, delays in diagnosis, causation, documentation, and the impact of system and operational factors on patient outcomes. His opinions are informed by current clinical guidelines, peer-reviewed literature, and active clinical practice. Representative case types include emergency department evaluation and management of chest pain, stroke, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, and other high-risk conditions, as well as cases involving delays in diagnosis, triage decisions, documentation, emergency department throughput or boarding, and provider decision-making. He has particular expertise in cases where system factors, workflow constraints, or operational processes may contribute to clinical outcomes, including emergency department crowding, handoffs, and interdisciplinary coordination of care. His opinions are objective, evidence-based, and grounded in active clinical and administrative practice, reflecting how emergency departments function in real-world settings. Dr. Pratt accepts cases on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants and is available for case review, merit assessment, deposition, and trial testimony.
