Dr. Jessica Oswald, MD, MPH is a nationally recognized, board-certified Pain Medicine physician and academic leader with extensive expertise in interventional pain management, medication management, and standards of care related to acute and chronic pain treatment. She serves as an Associate Professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where she maintains an active clinical practice focused exclusively on pain medicine, including spine interventions, fluoroscopy-guided and ultrasound-guided procedures, neuromodulation, and complex pharmacologic management. Dr. Oswald is among a select group of physicians with advanced training across both Pain Medicine and Emergency Medicine, providing her with a uniquely broad perspective on patient evaluation, procedural decision-making, and complications across care settings. Dr. Oswald has national leadership experience in pain policy and clinical standards. She serves in leadership roles with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) related to pain management guideline development and has held national positions within the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM), including founding and chairing a national Emergency Medicine Special Interest Group and developing educational programming for physicians across specialties. She is frequently invited to present at national conferences on topics including interventional pain procedures, patient safety, medication management, and emerging analgesic therapies.
