Dr. Greer is a general neurologist with over 16 years of experience in a busy community adult neurology practice. He treats patients with a wide variety of neurologic conditions and has a special interest /expertise in movement disorders. He manages patients with life-changing neurologic conditions including stroke, seizure, and TBI. He also sees and manages patients shortly after acute illnesses to transition them to home and outpatient care. He manages patients at the local inpatient rehabilitation hospital to facilitate this transition home. Dr. Greer has expertise in botulinum toxin (‘Botox’) injection for various neurologic conditions including chronic migraine, dystonia, and spasticity. He manages patients with Deep Brain Stimulators -used for Parkinson disease, Dystonia and Essential Tremor-, as well as Vagal Nerve Stimulators in patients with mediation-refractory epilepsy. He coordinates care with Vanderbilt and UAB in the treatment of patients with complex neurologic conditions including Alzheimer's, brain tumors, and Multiple Sclerosis. He has privileges at Crestwood Hospital and is a community faculty member for their new Internal Medicine training program. Dr. Greer has been on the speaker's bureau for three different pharmaceutical agents and 2 device companies in years past and has enjoyed speaking to range of different audiences. He enjoys speaking with various patient support groups in town and in the region. These groups provide education for patients and families with Parkinson disease, Essential Tremor, and Alzheimer's disease. He was recently honored to speak at the regional Parkinson Disease Foundation Gulf Coast regional meeting.
