Dr. Gupta is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery. He completed orthopaedic residency at the University of Washington/Harborview Medical Center, one of the world's busiest and most respected orthopaedic trauma hospitals. He then completed a highly prestigious fellowship in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, which is annually considered the top orthopaedic hospital in the nation. Dr. Gupta has been in private practice for 6 years and practices general orthopaedic surgery with a focus on foot and ankle disorders. He treats common conditions such as bunions, hallux rigidus, and flatfeet. Dr. Gupta is one of a handful of foot and ankle surgeons nationwide with training in minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery. He also treats degenerative conditions such as ankle arthritis and tendon dysfunction for which he performs ankle replacements and soft tissue reconstructions. He has a special interest in sports-related injuries of the foot and ankle including cartilage lesions, ankle instability, Achilles tendon injuries and other soft tissue injuries. Dr. Gupta takes general orthopaedic call at two hospitals and provides comprehensive surgical and non-surgical fracture care of the upper and lower extremities. Being in community practice, he also treats a variety of general orthopaedic conditions of the upper and lower extremities including hip and knee arthritis, meniscal injuries, shoulder arthritis, rotator cuff injuries and other shoulder soft tissue disorders and common issues of the wrist and hand including carpal tunnel and trigger fingers. Dr. Gupta regularly sees Workers' Compensation patients and is comfortable navigating this system. He is also an experienced medical expert witness. Dr. Gupta's strengths include clear and engaging communication and he is an experienced speaker to other medical professionals and the general public. He has also authored several book chapters and research publications in major orthopaedic journals.
