Dr. Patel is a dual board-certified physician (Internal Medicine and Clinical Informatics). He is a practicing hospitalist as well as an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He has practiced clinical medicine in diverse settings: private groups, hospital-employed, large academic institutions, smaller community hospitals, and teaching programs. Furthermore, he serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews (JPCRR), an open-access, peer-reviewed medical journal; and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, as a Chief Medical Information Officer of a multi-state system, Dr. Patel is an expert in health information technology, EHR systems, healthcare workflows, and is able to provide credible analysis of any breach in Standard of Care pertaining to utilization of EHR by providers.
