After completing his undergraduate education at Yale University, Dr. Colin Knight earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia. Following a surgical internship at UVA, Dr. Knight served as a Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force. In that capacity, he served as a primary care physician, occupational and travel medicine specialist, aircraft mishap investigator, and human factors consultant, and served on multiple deployments within the United States and overseas. He then completed surgical training at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh and pediatric surgery training at the Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. Dr. Colin Knight was an attending surgeon at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, where he trained medical students, surgery residents, and pediatric surgery fellows for over a decade. He now practices at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, Florida. In addition to faculty appointments at Florida International University and Florida State University, Dr. Knight has served on national committees for both the American Pediatric Surgery Association and the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Knight has performed independent peer reviews for over 15 years and has served as an expert witness in credentialing actions, medical malpractice cases, and criminal cases, for both defendants and plaintiffs.
