Scott Harvey-Lewis, PE, LEED AP, is a forensic structural engineer and expert witness with more than 20 years of experience. As Founder and CEO of Building Mavens, he investigates structural failures, construction defects, water intrusion, and building code compliance on behalf of attorneys, owners, developers, property managers, and insurance companies. Mr. Harvey-Lewis provides expert witness testimony and litigation support in construction defect and structural failure matters, translating complex technical findings into clear, defensible conclusions for use in mediation, deposition, and trial. His forensic practice covers building envelope and exterior wall systems, waterproofing and roofing failures, concrete deterioration and restoration, balcony and railing failures, and parking garage assessments. In Florida, his work includes milestone inspections, structural integrity reserve studies (SIRS), and building safety recertification under the state's recertification requirements—serving condominium associations, HOA boards, and the attorneys who represent them. His design and engineering portfolio spans the full project lifecycle, from conceptual design and plan preparation through construction administration and final inspection, including design of cast-in-place concrete, steel, masonry, and timber for commercial, residential, educational, telecommunications, and industrial structures, marinas, warehouses, and land development.
