Dr Peter Dorsher offers 30+ years of clinical experience in the field of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with subspecialty and expertise in musculoskeletal medicine and non-interventional pain management. While in private practice in Louisiana, he developed, and was the director of hospital stroke, traumatic brain injury, and multidisciplinary pain management programs. During his 27+ years of clinical practice at Mayo Clinic, Dr Dorsher has taught musculoskeletal medicine and non-operative pain management techniques, including a variety of injections, medical acupuncture and trigger point injections to medical students, medical residents and fellows. He served as Chairman of the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Jacksonville), and was integral in the development of the Mayo Multidisciplinary Pain Management Program. Through his research endeavors, he has published over 90 peer reviewed articles and book chapters, including multiple publications on myofascial pain syndrome treatment, and has and continues to present many regional, national, and international lectures and workshops. Dr Dorsher is a Physician Emeritus -Mayo Clinic- Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and in his "retirement", continues part-time private practice, participates in chronic pain educational/training and research ventures, as well as medical record/peer reviews, impairment evaluations, and expert witness testimony.
