Mr. Anderson is the founder of Advantec Engineering LLC and provides expert consultation, laboratory testing and analysis, and litigation support regarding materials failure analysis, forensic engineering investigations, corrosion, and structural analysis. He has more than forty years of professional engineering experience. Mr. Anderson has provided engineering support and/or testimony for cases involving product liability, industrial accidents and equipment failures, commercial and residential accidents and equipment failures, bridge structures, and aircraft, marine, and vehicle accidents. He has also provided expert testimony and/or litigation support in cases involving flow accelerated corrosion, stress corrosion, corrosion fatigue, pitting, weld defects, and fitness for service of large industrial components, commercial products, and consumer products. Mr. Anderson is especially skillful at translating highly complex and technical information into something understandable by the average lay person. Mr. Anderson has taught courses in basic corrosion mechanisms and power plant water chemistry at various types of power plants in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Africa. Mr. Anderson has extensive experience with applying and interpreting international codes and standards, such as ASTM material standards, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel code, National Building code, National Plumbing code, EPA, and OSHA. Compliance with appropriate codes and standards provides an indication whether a system, component, or part was fabricated correctly, installed correctly, and appropriate for the intended application. Advantec Engineering owns and operates sophisticated laboratory equipment for analysis of a wide variety of materials and examination of fracture surfaces. Mr. Anderson has decades of hands on laboratory experience performing materials failure analyses. Laboratory testing and fracture surface evaluations are often required to identify the how and why a component failed. Accurate determination of the cause of a failure is essential for determining who may be responsible.
