Additional Information

I am a board-certified family physician and practicing hospice medical director with over 15 years of clinical experience in outpatient care and end-of-life settings. I maintain an active clinical practice and hold an unrestricted medical license. I provide expert medical opinions on standard of care, causation, and medical decision-making capacity in hospice and palliative care settings, as well as primary care. I work directly with attorneys representing plaintiffs or defendants in cases involving: • Delayed or missed hospice or palliative care referrals • Inappropriate or premature withdrawal of life-sustaining treatments during end-of-life transitions • Failure to assess or document decision-making capacity • Poor interdisciplinary communication within hospice and palliative teams • Missed diagnoses or delayed treatment in primary care • System-level care coordination failures in hospice or palliative care transitions My reviews address both individual clinician conduct and broader systems failures across hospice, palliative care, skilled nursing, and primary care settings. Areas of clinical expertise include: • Advance care planning and alignment with patient goals • POLST/MOST interpretation and implementation • Surrogate decision-making and goals-of-care documentation • Hospice eligibility and referral timing • Polypharmacy and medication management in frail or elderly patients • Hospice charting and interdisciplinary team communication • Complex clinical history review and nuanced medical documentation analysis I provide chart review, expert reports, declarations, and deposition testimony. I also conduct physician interviews for peer review and clinical competency evaluation. My review process is thorough, objective, and responsive, with attention to documentation clarity and patterns of care over time. I accept cases nationwide for expert review, including written reports, virtual depositions, and virtual trial testimony. In-person appearances are reserved for cases based in Colorado. I only accept cases when retained directly by legal counsel.
