Shannon Marie Foster MD FACS is an active acute care surgeon - performing trauma, critical care, and emergency general surgery in daily practice and certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. She is a leader in the surgical community and holds multiple positions in the professional organizations responsible for setting the standards of care. Heavily involved in policy creation, surgical quality and performance review - she is highly skilled at not only reviewing complex cases, but providing education regarding best practice to patients, learners and those without primary medical backgrounds. Dr. Foster has invested time and effort to better understand the many aspects of the business of medicine, intentionally working and consulting in varying practice types from rural to urban, community to academic, small to large hospitals and across systems to ensure an understanding of the complex aspects of care delivery in a variety of healthcare environments.
