ASIF ILYAS, MD, MBA, FACS is an established thought leader, prolific researcher, and dedicated educator. He is doubled-boarded, holding Board Certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery. Dr. ILYAS maintains an active clinical and academic practice at the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute in Philadelphia focusing on hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, and nerve injuries. Dr. ILYAS is a Harvard-trained surgeon, having first completed his Orthopaedic Surgery training at the Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, and then completed his Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery fellowship at Harvard's Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. ILYAS holds the rank of Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at both the Drexel University College of Medicine and Thomas Jefferson University. He is the founding Fellowship Program Director of the the Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute. He has also previously served as a Clinical Instructor at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. ILYAS has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including being annually recognized by Castle & Connolly Top Doctors for Philadelphia for the past 15 years. Received multiple teaching awards from his medical students, residents, and fellows. Frequent speaker at national meetings with over 400 meeting presentations. Has authored over 250 articles and 15 book chapters and serves as an editor/reviewer for multiple scientific journals. Moreover, he has previously served as President of the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society. Dr. ILYAS has about 20 years of expert witness experience, including regular deposition and trial testimonies. Serves as an expert for all injuries and complaints of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, and nerves.
