Nirav B. Patel, MD, MS, JD, FACS is a Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in solo private practice in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. Dr. Patel is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a New York-licensed attorney (member of the New York Bar) in good standing since 2004. Of more recent note, he is a newly accessioned Plastic Surgeon and projected Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Reserves, approved by the USN review board in 2026 and currently undergoing the formal commissioning process. Dr. Patel is one of very few plastic surgeons in the United States to have completed fellowships in both aesthetic and breast surgery (Endorsed by The Aesthetic Society) as well as in oculoplastic (eyelid and periorbital) surgery. His areas of practice include all aspects of aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery, aesthetic and reconstructive oculoplastic surgery, Mohs defect reconstruction, implant-based breast reconstruction, facial trauma management and reconstruction, scar management, and wound care. He has co-authored several publications in his field, presented nationally, and has served on multiple national and regional society committees. He is a Wellstar Clinical Partner who holds an Adjunct Clinical Faculty teaching appointment for Wellstar Health System's ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency Program. He is currently and actively seeking full-time employed academic appointments in Plastic Surgery. He is an Active Member of the following national, regional, state, local, and alumni organizations: American College of Surgeons (ACS); American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS); Medical Association of Georgia (MAG); Georgia Association of Physicians of Indian Heritage (GAPI); University of California, Davis Surgical Alumni Association (UCDSAA); University of Rochester's The Meliora Collective; and Princeton Alumni Schools Committee and Princeton Club of Georgia Board (outgoing Atlanta ASC Chair). Dr. Patel is in active clinical practice and provides objective plastic surgical expertise and disciplined testimony in both Plaintiff and Defendant cases. He has conducted and reported on multiple Independent Medical Examinations (IME). With his background as an attorney, Dr. Patel has an enhanced understanding of the procedural and logistical needs of his many clients over the years. He has been involved with and drafted detailed reports, including multiple Rule 26 disclosures, for both state and federal cases, products liability cases, and class action lawsuits. He has testified in both state and federal case matters. He has a well-known reputation for responsiveness, thoroughness, honesty, transparency, ethical behavior, attention to detail, insightfulness, working effectively with retaining counsel, and the utmost professionalism as both a plastic surgeon and as an expert witness.
