Additional Information

I have been providing Med-legal evaluations addressing allegations of Psychological/Psychiatric impairment/disability in the Workers' Compensation system for more than ten years. I hold experience with successful court testimony and deposition throughout Northern California and am highly proficient at analysis of all elements of data related to a case and identification of other issues that may be relevant to a claim. Attorneys on both sides have expressed appreciation that my reports offer opinions that are thorough but provided succinctly without digression into material that is superfluous. I am a licensed psychologist with extensive professional experience. In addition to an M.S. in Social Psychology from Vanderbilt University and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Temple University, I completed training in cutting edge treatments for traumatic stress disorders including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. I completed in depth training in mindfulness-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Hakomi. My experience in the treatment of trauma is both comprehensive and tailored and includes specialty areas such as combat trauma and multigenerational trauma in the Native American population. I have extensive experience with assessment and treatment of first responders including veterans and enlisted military, law enforcement candidates and fire fighters. As a clinical psychologist, I worked with patients not only in private practice but also in a wide variety of other settings. I previously served as a school psychologist in remote rural communities and on Indian reservations and provided clinical care for children and families in a children’s hospital. I served the military community working on a US Army base in Europe and as part of a home-based palliative care team for veterans with the VA. I am a Qualified Medical Examiner providing Workers’ Compensation Evaluations in the State of California and have experience providing expert witness testimony in the civil courts as well. I provide fitness to practice evaluations for the California Board of Registered Nursing, appeals for peace officer applicants and screenings for the FAA. I have been invited as a guest editor for peer reviewed journals in psychology.
