Mr. Marcor Platt is a licensed civil and structural engineer (PE/SE) with authority to practice across 26 U.S. states, districts, and territories (see his Curriculum Vitae for the full list), reflecting both the breadth of his expertise and the national demand for his work. He is a credentialed Building Code Specialist, holding certification as a Certified Building Official (CBO) through the International Code Council, and a recognized leader in project delivery, certified by the Project Management Institute as both a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP). Mr. Platt provides expert opinion reports and testimony for structural and civil projects involving forensic engineering, design engineering, building codes, and project management. He has conducted between 800 and 1,000 forensic investigations involving roof failures, wall failures, foundation issues, corrosion, or other forms of damage resulting from rain, hail, wind, snow, flood, tornado, hurricane, earthquake, lightning, fire, volcano, tropical storm, vehicle impact, construction defect, or other natural or man-made events. He has testified at depositions and trials regarding the economic feasibility of underground versus overhead power lines, concrete roof tile wind damage, post-tensioned slab adequacy to resist punching shear, wall structural adequacy to resist wind forces, horizontal and vertical discontinuities, truss repair versus replacement, bridge protection dolphin failure, and other topics. His experience spans a wide spectrum of structural and civil engineering, including the design, evaluation, and retrofit of residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure systems. Mr. Platt has engineered and analyzed diverse structures, ranging from high-voltage transmission structures and solar array systems to custom homes, multi-story podium buildings, bridges, and specialized industrial facilities. His work spans all major structural materials—wood, steel, concrete, masonry, and advanced composites—and includes highly specialized applications, such as fall protection anchorage systems and fiber-reinforced polymer retrofits. Known for tackling technically demanding and unconventional challenges, Mr. Platt has delivered solutions for unique projects, including a seismic retrofit of a water tower, the design of a long-span steel arch system supporting solar arrays, the design of a tapered masonry monument, and the advanced strengthening of post-tensioned concrete structures. Mr. Platt also provides Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) engineering for a wide variety of civil engineering projects, including flood studies, bridge scour analysis, and canal failure. Mr. Platt maintains an NCEES Record with Civil and Structural Model Law designation, enabling efficient multi-state licensure in response to project needs. He is the founder of Marcor Structural Expert Network (MarcorSEN Engineering), a firm built around multidisciplinary expert collaboration; Arizona Structural Experts, focused on high-end residential design; and Marcor Forensic and Expert Consulting, dedicated to forensic engineering and expert witness services.
