I am a licensed architect in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware and have been in business practicing architecture for the past 35 years. My education includes a bachelor’s degree in architecture in 1979 from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). I am regularly engaged in the architectural profession with continuing education, which is a requirement of licensure in each state. I am a certified LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) professional for building design and construction. I am a member of the American Institute of Architects. My experience includes the designs for hospital and medical facilities, hotels, libraries, restaurants, law offices, office buildings, tenant fit-out, churches, and performance theatres. The residential projects are all types (1-family, 2-family, multi-family), including new construction, rehab of existing dwellings, new additions, and multi-family and mixed-use developments. My work has been in urban design (Philadelphia) and buildings in the suburban and rural areas of PA, NJ, and DE. I have been an expert witness since 2019 for cases that involve construction defects, building code analysis, ADA handicap compliance, land use and zoning, drawings interpretation, and slip, trip, and fall incidents. I have done approximately 45+ expert witness cases, with approximately equal split of plaintiff and defendant cases. I have testified to the Philadelphia Board of Building Standards for building code issues, to the ADA Accessibility Board, and to the Zoning Board of Adjustment for land use. I am currently and have been for 20+ years the Zoning Board Chairman for the South Broad Street Neighborhood Association in Philadelphia. I have been retained and consulted on many legal cases (both plaintiff and defendant) regarding construction defects, ADA handicap compliance, zoning & building codes, and fall incidents.
